An experimental zine about a post climate change era where all glaciers have melted and the earth has become a warm oceanic planet. To survive, all different species have evolved into hybrid amphibians. In this distant future meta dragonflies act as keepers of emotions of the human era. Memories of emotions of the distant past are being stored in the DNA of these meta-dragonflies and released with the help of meta-hallucinogenic water lilies.
The following is the story of Libella Nova, a meta dragonfly that embarks on a journey to mentally revisit the past. The text is a collage of extracts of my conversation with chat GPT on the above story.

Libella Nulla reconstructs the deconstruction of a libellula, recorded as audio while it was once struggling to escape a spider’s web. The digital fossil of this creature was care- fully revived through data-AI-lchemical processes, extracting the emotions inscribed in the waveform as a series determining the acoustic spectrum of these emotions. The series/spirit of Libella Nulla was then revived through a sonic ritual involving analogue (re)synthesis, field recording and improvisation. In this way, the atomised temporality of the digital fossil is expanded into an eternal presence of annulation, liberating the libellula towards post-human futures.

SubPhonics are a London based experimental music and sound art collective focused around improvisation and novel approaches to group sound making. Blending together the varied influences of their members they use improvisation as a method of exploring widely varying subjects. Soothing soundscapes collide with harsh noise and violent rhythmic trances. The group utilise a non hierarchical, open structure to facilitate frequent collaborations and rotations within the ensemble. The goal of the project is to make work that is both experimental in practice, whilst remaining aesthetically enjoyable to a broader audience.
